Michael is 59 years old with four adult children and three grandchildren.
Born in Auckland and with his family moving around the Country living in Nelson, Plamerston North and Wellington with Secondary Education at St Pats Silverstream and St Pats Town.

After leaving College, Michael was involved in the Music Industry and after recovering from a serious pushbike accident joined the Courier Industry in the late 1970s until 1991, and started a Landscape and Property Maintenance Business before moving into the Cessation Industry 2 years ago with Te Whare Ora Wellness Trust.

Te Whare Ora is a Social Conscience Company which means that we meet all financial obligations and then use surplus funds to create Scholarships and Grants aimed at primarily assisting Maori and Pacific Students wanting careers in Education and Health, especially for those who want to improve the lives of their own Communities.
We also aim to provide Sponsorships for young Kiwis involved in Sport.

As a Country we will only improve as the most vulnerable, the lower socio-economic levels are given relevant Education, better access to Health, and improved standards of Housing.
We are living a lifestyle that we cannot afford with 3rd generation unemployed with high drug use and alcohol abuse.

Michael is a Qualified Heart Foundation Cessation Practitioner also with training in Group Based Therapy and WERO Initiatives.

Te Whare Ora is a Secondary Provider to Kaipara Whanau Ora and fully supports the Whanau Ora Outcomes for Maori and their full participation in Society.

Michael does not receive a Salary, that money goes into the funding pool and is distributed into the Scholarships and Sponsorships and Grants.
